Did you guys know that Hoggle from Labyrinth (1986) has been at Unclaimed Baggage in Alabama since 1997?!? He recently got a restoration in 2022 to look closer to his movie self because his first restoration wasn't that accurate.
If anyone wants to see photos of the condition he was in when they found him rotting in a suitcase and trust me—THEY ARE NIGHTMARE FUEL—then take a look below ⬇

If you're a Labyrinth fan like me, you'll definitely want to see Hoggle in the flesh! There's nothing quite like being inches away from him and really getting a feel for what it must've been like acting opposite him 😆

Unclaimed Baggage in Scottsboro, Ala., is the only store in the U.S. that sells items travelers left behind.
-----
Now I kind of want to go check out the store.

The wardrobe source post
Have had several Asks about where I get my clothes, so here we go.
My general style:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
My build: I am 5'10", around 155-160lbs. I am a trans man, so that means some fit challenges. 36R tops, 32x32 bottoms, 8ish shoe.
My preferences: I adore 1930s/40s outdoor "country gentleman" and work wear -- I am building a wardrobe here. I love texture and mixing patterns. I try to stick to natural fibers. I am spending more money on pieces that last longer and shrinking my closet to a modern capsule and a vintage capsule. (Though I will sometimes mix eras.) Brown is my favorite color.
Online thrifting:
Unclaimed baggage. Really great for giving higher end brands a shot at huge discounts.
Gem App. Fantastic for searching multiple sites like ebay, poshmark, etc.
Modern clothing:
Taylor Stitch. Standouts are sweaters and wool trousers. Sizing runs trim - I size up to a 38 here instead of my usual 36. This means it's a great source for smaller trans mascs.
Yiume. Shirts a bit thin, but fun prints and frequent sales.
Imperfects. Small range, but fun, higher waisted fishtail trousers.
Taft Boots. Comfy right out of the box. Great at making small feet look elegant. Men's sizes start at a 6.
Schott. Fantastic pea coats. Recommended by Derek Menswear.
Vermont Flannel. Super thick plaid, flannel shirts. Very warm.
Sterkowski hats. Range includes flat caps and captains/fisherman.
Spier & MacKay. Great winter coats, run a bit trim. Their trousers look hideous and despite a bit of a vintage look, everything else in the catalog is too low waisted and skinny.
LLBean. Great for sweaters. I love my grey commando style one.
Banana Republic. I like a lot of their older stuff, so a brand to watch on Poshmark.
New Vintage:
Cathcart London. Sweaters and jeans are great. Hit or miss fit on the rest. Frequent sales, small runs.
Darcy Clothing. Great all across the board. They are a film supplier, so restocks are regular. Their suspenders are hard to find, fyi, so search under "braces".
Revival Vintage. Dipping into poly blends, but a great selection of fairisle sweater vests.
JoBear boots. Great prices and styles, requires breaking in.
Focusers. Vintage glasses. They will replace lenses. Love the Peabody gold wire frames.
Old Glasses Shop. Frames you won't find at Focusers. You can try on frames before committing to an Rx, but have to pay for the return. Love their round tortoise shells.

Space marine headcannon
I blame @cosmic-cryptid-from-beyond and space marine 2 for this one.
Note: this is pure brainrot , spoilers i guess
Kill teams are all almost always composed of astartes from various chapters. Which is what makes them so effective in the first place. They use the codex as a guide line but utilize equitment and tactics that their original chapters never would due to preference or tradition.
Kill teams are more loose with regulations as a result but usually share incredibly close bonds with their comrades. they basically adopt each other as brothers.
Black Shields may be considered "dishonorable" by outsiders, but the death watch is generally more experienced, and they don't view the world in black and white. Titus is a great example of self-imposed exile, when Calgal (literally the chapter master of the Ultramarines) was looking for him the entire time.
Circumstances can often be out of a marine's control. Leading to an almost fatalistic attitude for most Black Shields, seeing themselves as a lost cause.
This leads to "adoption," other battle brothers giving in to the age-old Little-Brother-Hurt! Response: Not really considering the actual age of the black shield. The black shield doesn't really get a choice...(it's free real-estate!)
When we apply that to Titus, who has Ultra-Depression, his adoptive brothers get attached and care-a-whole-lot. Humans will pack bond with anything, space marines are worse, especially with "unclaimed" battle brothers.
Titus (hyper-compedent super soldier) becomes a flustered, blushing, shy mess from any act of kindness after Inquisitor Thumb Tack toutured him for 100 years.
Enough Emotial Baggage for a Whole Airport. But his brothers are there to help him unpack it all.
What do you all think they would do?

I am indifferent to Antonia but the way she portrayed herself vs. Luke's ex Jade is very different. Jade was hard working and homely. First impressions of Antonia with the fandom made it seem like she's very materialistic. It was all Soho Farmhouse trips. And let's just say, that place has a specific reputation. Add to that the ass grab video of Luke kissing Antonia on NYE added fuel to the fire followed up with many articles claiming Luke was single. He didn't claim her and that is why the delusional fans consider her to be unclaimed baggage (she was quite literally called that) and a side piece or a friends with benefits or casual hook up. A lot of it, I think, was also the fandom anger from Luke's Hot Boy Summer where he was following a specific type of women (20-22 year old and thin). Luke definitely popped the fandom balloon that he prefers a different type of women and not Nicola or her type. Antonia stuck around from his HBS and now get's the brunt of it. I will say, Antonia is problematic in her own ways but she has been judged too harshly for it
My blunt and unpleasant opinion : she seems basic and shallow even compared to Jade or Sophie, not to mention the super smart, funny and charming Nicola.
But I disagree with shippers, she was "claimed" thru People magazine, I consider that as a launch (without confirmation).
And that was his decision imo, not hers. He is the responsible party here.
And yes, she is blamed for everything he is responsible for.

Chapter 3 of Maritime Salvage Law is up! Contains thrilling scenes of lying in a hospital bed, fidgeting, and exposition-heavy dialogue.
Next up is a Soap POV chapter, which I am very excited about.
The fic in general is a slow-burn Ghost/Soap/OC pairing -
If Ghost is more weapon than man, does he count as military equipment or personnel? Is he subject to maritime salvage laws? When Mumbles finds an unconscious soldier floating in the Atlantic Ocean, she is not aware of all the unclaimed baggage associated - just that the man needs help and she is capable of sorting out the next steps later.
